In 2015, Baltimore’s original German Christmas Market will return to West Shore Park/ Inner Harbor on Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Closing day for the season will be December 27 – the last Sunday of the year, which will give visitors an additional Homecoming Weekend to enjoy! Weinachtsmarkt- Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia– Nov. 24-25
Weihnachtsmarkt” is our version of the traditional, German-inspired “Christmas Market” with open air booths selling handcrafted artisan gifts. This is the first of three markets that will be held this year at the Frontier Culture Museum. There is no admission fee to tour all of the shoppes on the Museum’s Expo Area. Black River Falls Christkindl Festival Dec 3
The day’s events are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with a coronation ceremony of Christkindl and remarks from local dignitaries at Donna K’s Bar and Family Diner (formerly Traveler’s Tales). Other events include a Christkindlmarkt from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the downstairs of the Black River Country Bank building, horse-drawn wagon rides through the downtown, live reindeer and a Night of Lights holiday parade at 5 p.m. There will be appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus, Father Christmas and Christkindl.

The event will be held at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery located at 901 W. Juneau Ave. u
Food and beverages include a variety of items such as schnitzel, sauerbraten, strudel, bratwursts, potato pancakes, pretzels, soups, roasted nuts, stollen, hot chocolate & Gluhwein (hot spiced wine). Of course, there will an assortment German beer including Spaten varieties.There will be over 20 vendors will be on hand selling items such as; steins, Hummel figurines, Christmas ornaments, imported German chocolate candies, cookies, gingerbreads, marzipan, Advent calendars, hand-sewn clothing, spices, cheeses and wreaths. The Best Place gift shop will be open with a selection of merchandise including shirts, hats, collectables, ornaments and more.
On Sunday, a special Mass will be held at 10:00am. Sit with costumed storytellers, decorate cookies, and join in on tree-lighting and keg-tapping ceremonies. Take a picture with the statues of Captain Frederick Pabst and King Gambrinus, the Patron Saint of Beer.
