You Are Not Nutella
Do you know someone with an absolute weakness for Nutella… someone who is more than content to sit down with a jar of chocolatey hazelnut goodness and a spoon? (ME!!!) I’ve always loved Nutella, ever since my Opa started sending it to us in packages back in the 70s. And now my older daughter does too (she’s sort of addicted…). If you know someone who can’t get enough Nutella… take a look at these fun Gifts Nutella Lovers will swoon over!
Brief Nutella History
For those of you who have never been introduced to the wonders of spreadable chocolate… Nutella is a nut spread, a bit like Peanut Butter in TEXTURE only. It’s made with a blend of Hazelnuts, sugar and just a bit of cocoa… and was originally produced in 1946 by the Italian Pastry chef, Pietro Fererro, when chocolate was scarce and very very very expensive. Originally the paste was meant for use in pastries, but by 1964, Pietro’s son Michele tweaked the recipe to make it spreadable, and Nutella was born. in 1965, Nutella landed in Germany… and the popularity EXPLODED. Now Nutella is available worldwide… but, of course, the best Nutella comes from Germany (it’s made differently there…no palm oil in the European version, and it has a thicker texture). Either way, it’s quite delicious… and if you know of a Super-Nutella fan, you might want to indulge their habit with a fun Nutella Gift.
