German Language Summer Camps and Programs

What do you do with the kids all summer? German Language Summer Camps and German Language summer programs are a great way to fill those empty Summer months. They come away with improved language skills … and they have fun doing it!

These German Summer Camps are scattered across the country. Some are day camps, others are overnight. There is even a program IN GERMANY.  And there are camps for all ages, from Preschool to High School. (And the Waldsee even has Family and Adult programs!). California

German Immersion Summer Camp -German American School Association of Southern California

Kids from 8-16 are invited to the Summer German Immersion program in the Southern California mountains near Wrightwood. Hiking, archery, canoeing, ‘smores by the campfire, singing and dancing. Baking, sports, games, and crafts, with special events still in the works! We’ll be busy from dawn to dusk. Campers will get acquainted with German Legends and perform a play. All Activities will be performed in German.

Illinois

DANK Haus Summer Camp – 4 Sessions

Our native German-speaking teachers are excited to welcome our campers ages 3-9 to their summer adventure. For two weeks projects, experiments, field trips, crafts & arts await in an immersive German setting. No prior German knowledge is necessary. This is a bilingual camp, everybody is welcome. Each session has a distinct theme and includes one full-day field trip. Our Kinder will also venture to the local parks daily, so be sure to pack sunscreen and a change of clothes in case they play in the water to cool off.

Minnesota

German American Institute Summer Camps

Weekly drop-off camps from 9 to noon with extended care available. Campers explore themes such as art, cooking, adventure games, construction projects and more during our week-long camps. Ages 5 to 16 years old. German beginners to bilingual campers are welcome, as different activities are offered according to the children’s language skill level. Teachers and children will speak, hear, sing, and create in German while exploring subjects ranging from art and cooking, to science and nature. Camp instructors & staff are professional German teachers & instructors with extensive training and experience in teaching German as a foreign language.

At Waldsee, our German Language Village, we do Deutsch. On the lake. At the beach. On the Fußball field. At the Café. In the Gasthof (dining hall). In the cabin. Oregon

Camp Abenteuer German Immersion Camp

Camp Abenteuer is a week-long German immersion camp in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Hearing German spoken throughout each day and practicing speaking it during hiking, crafting, games, cooking, and mealtime is the best way to learn a foreign language. This fun residential camp gives children from age 8 to 15 a chance to begin or advance their German language skills. Our excellent staff keep the language alive by speaking it throughout mealtimes and activities. Camp is run by the Sophie Scholl School in Beaverton.

Texas

Sommercamp- German Texan Heritage Society

Total immersion German language camps in Austin & San Antonio. The week-long camps are offered once a month in June, July and August. Younger students (ages 3-6) participate in summertime-themed learning, and through play, arts and crafts, theater, games, live entertainers and more. Older students pick thematic topics to explore during the week (sports and video games, eating at a restaurant), write and perform in mini-roleplays, and participate in projects (design a board game).

In Germany

Education First Study Abroad Summer Session

Study abroad for 2 to 12 weeks in Munich. Ages Middle School through University. Combine plenty of free time abroad with 20 morning and afternoon language lessons a week (total tuition time of 13 hours and 20 minutes) – combining General Language Lessons, Project Sessions and Lecture Sessions. This course concentrates on understanding and speaking the language in practical situations. You’ll benefit from comprehensive materials, personalized instruction and interactive class time.
